What: The World of Musicals

All to the soundtrack of Elvis Presley, Thelma & Louise tells the story of two women running from something, looking for something and teething on the edge of a cliff while their worlds fall apart around them. What: Wildlife Photographer of the Year
Where: Canterbury Museum at CoCA
When: Monday 1st July – 8th September
For the chance to see the most amazing wildlife photographs, head to the Canterbury Museum, here With over 100 photographs on display including images of a three legged Artic Fox backlit by the midnight sun in the Canadian Artic, a polar bear drifting off to sleep on a Norwegian iceberg and an endangered golden tri-spine horseshoe crab strutting in the Philippines. Dance and roller skate the morning away! The kids will burn off lots of energy (we hope) and have fun dancing at a School Holidays Roller Disco at Riverside Market. The event is on Saturday 8th July and Saturday 15th July from 9.30 - 11.30am. This is a fun event for all ages and it doesn't matter if you’re a beginner or roller skate pro and don’t worry the fee includes skates and that all important safety gear or you can take your own.

One for the school Schools head to The Art Gallery Te Puna, for one of their many school holiday workshops, we recommend the Holiday Workshop: Printmaking. This event will let kids explore the creative world of print with a Marilyn Webb Inspired Print Making Workshop. The event is best for kids from age 8 to 12 years old.

Wellington events: Find out what’s happening in Wellington this July.
What: Doctor Who Ngā Ao Mīharo | Doctor Who: Worlds of Wonder
Where: Tākina Convention and Exhibition Centre
When: Saturday 1st June – Monday 28th October 2024
The TARDIS is heading to Wellington for an extraordinary Doctor Who exhibition. Guests can explore the science behind the global hit series, encounter iconic characters and discover on-screen worlds.

Where: 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th July (Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the school holidays)
One for older during the school holidays, take them to Squishable Science: Science Holiday Science Workshop at Space Place. The event is on the 9th, 10, 16th and 17th July. Kids can get hands on with gooey fun and squaihy discoveries all while leaning about science! The event finishes with a planetarium show at the dome theatre.

Get your skates on everyone! The Wellington Ice Rink is back for Winter and perfect the school holidays. Wednesday nights are student nights and the kids can enjoy some iconic beats from the DJ, or if they bring their student I.D they can get a sweet discount upon entry! Let the kids burn some energy while you watch from the sides or send the older ones on their own with friends for the day so you can enjoy a quiet household. Either way this is an event that needs to be on your list!
